October 20, 1934

Stanocola Processing Employee's Federal Credit Union Founded

Historic founding of Stanocola Processing Employee's Federal Credit Union

On October 20, 1934, Stanocola Processing Employee's Federal Credit Union was created under Federal Charter #13. One hundred seventy-eight original members invested a total of $941.70 to get the credit union off the ground. Our original name, Stanocola Processing Employee's Federal Credit Union, reflected our charter's sponsor and our mission to manage the banking needs of our community's new and growing middle class by providing financial services to the employees of the Stanocola Processing Plant (now ExxonMobil).

1949

Merger Creates Esso Processing and Mechanical Employees Federal Credit Union

Merger of credit unions in 1949

The two credit unions merged to form Esso Processing and Mechanical Employees Federal Credit Union, retaining Charter #13.

1951

Esso Process and Mechanical Federal Credit Union

Credit union name change in 1951

The credit union's name changed to Esso Process and Mechanical Federal Credit Union.

1972

Exxon Process and Mechanical Federal Credit Union

Credit union name change to Exxon in 1972

The credit union's name changed to Exxon Process and Mechanical Federal Credit Union.

1984

Exxon Federal Credit Union

Credit union name change to Exxon Federal Credit Union in 1984

The credit union's name changed to Exxon Federal Credit Union.

1994

E Federal Credit Union

Credit union name change to E Federal Credit Union in 1994

The credit union's name changed to E Federal Credit Union.

January 31, 2003

Largest Credit Union Merger in Louisiana

Esso Federal Credit Union was acquired by E Federal Credit Union, marking the largest credit union merger in Louisiana history. This merger grew our assets to more than $140 million and 20,000 members.

Vulcan Employees Federal Credit Union Acquired

Vulcan Employees Federal Credit Union was acquired by E Federal Credit Union.

March 31, 2005

Burnside Federal Credit Union Acquired

Burnside Federal Credit Union merger

Burnside Federal Credit Union (Ormet as its field of membership) was acquired by E Federal Credit Union.

November 1, 2006

Moved to New Operations Center

New Operations Center at 10719 Airline Highway

We moved to our new Operations Center at 10719 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.

February 26, 2007

O'Neal Lane Branch Opened

O'Neal Lane Branch opening

We opened our O'Neal Lane Branch.

July 16, 2007

Expanded to Community Charter

Community charter expansion

E Federal Credit Union changed its field of membership from a single sponsor to a community charter encompassing nine parishes: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana.

Rewards Checking Account Launch

We launched our new Rewards Checking account, giving members the unique flexibility to choose between cash back or a high-yield, making us the only credit union in the market that allows members to decide how they are rewarded each month.
