Human Resources Generalist

Our Human Resources Generalist provides confidential, professional support for the human resources department. Performs the daily functions of the HR department including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and administrating payroll within the credit union policies and procedures. This individual interfaces with staff, management, job applicants, and visitors of the credit union. Prepares reports, correspondence, manuals, spreadsheets as requested by the Vice President of Human Resources, and all other communications utilizing a broad range of computer applications. The Human Resources Generalist is expected to project a professional and positive image as a representative of the credit union in receiving and directing visitors and guests.

Critical Knowledge, Skill and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources.
  • Three to five years of experience in human resources. Human Resources certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to human resources is a must.
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage many projects simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Strong public relations and interpersonal skills. Ability to project professional and business-like image on behalf of the Credit Union.

Mortgage Lending Originator

Our Mortgage Lending Originator is responsible for outside sales to generate mortgage lending by contacting prospective members, realtors, homebuilders, land developers, real estate attorneys, accountants, financial consultants and real estate appraisers and by developing and maintaining referral sources.  This role also counsels’ members and potential members about appropriate mortgage lending products, features and benefits, and examines, evaluates, and recommends approval of member applications for residential real estate loans. This individual is also responsible for providing financial services related to the financing of residential real estate and refinancing of existing mortgages secured by real estate. Our Mortgage Lending Originator represents the Credit Union at community functions and events.

 Critical Knowledge, Skills and Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience at banking, lending or sales experience that can be applied to mortgage loan origination.
  • Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and must maintain registration with NMLS as a registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
  • Additional regulations applicants should understand include, but are not limited to:  HMDA, Regulation Z, Regulation B, the FHLMC, FNMA, FHA rules and processes.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance Requirements of a Depository Financial Institution.
  • Must have reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record (mileage will be reimbursed), valid driver license, and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to work independently while still meeting the goals of the position.

Personal Financial Officer I, Full-time, Non-Exempt

Three Open Locations: Refinery Branch, Perkins Branch, Zachary Branch

Our Personal Financial Officer serves as liaison between the member and the Credit Union.  This individual is responsible for processing member transactions and maintaining a cash drawer, providing account information, opening new accounts, and processing loan applications as well as provides limited transactions to Credit Union Cooperative Branch (CUCB) guest members in a prompt and accurate manner. The Personal Financial Officer attends to all telephone, online and walk-in inquiries from members. Other responsibilities include preparing loan applications and other documentation necessary for completing loan files, funding approved loans, completing adverse action letters, and maintaining Lending Department files. This individual is expected to assist members in a professional and courteous manner with any and all questions or challenges.

Critical Knowledge, Skill and Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience in lending and/or member services with full-service financial institution and/or training; or equivalent combination of education.
  • Good understanding of member services, loan services, polices, and procedures and products provided.
  • Understanding of member bookkeeping procedures, of related legal and regulatory standards, and required loan documentation.
  • Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards and required loan documentation.
  • Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices, and credit union products and services with a thorough understanding of Real Estate Lending.
  • Interpersonal skills including trust, diplomacy, courtesy, and tactfulness in working with others.
