APY is based on withdrawn dividends, if dividends remain on deposit until maturity APY may be higher. A withdrawal from the Certificate will reduce earnings. Dividends are compounded monthly and credited monthly on all Certificates and IRA Certificate accounts. A penalty may be imposed for withdrawal. Please read the Truth In Savings disclosures for additional information.

Need to hit pause? We've got you covered!

Life doesn't always line up with your due dates. With Skip-A-Pay, eligible EFCU Financial loans can skip one monthly payment, so you can put your money where it's needed most right now.

How it works

  • One skip per rolling 12-month period. Eligible loans can skip one payment in any 12-month span.
  • $40 fee per loan. The fee is added to your loan balance, so nothing comes out of your pocket today.
  • Your payment amount stays the same. Your loan term is extended by one month, and regular payments resume the following month.

How to request a skipped payment

Choose whichever way works best for you:

Before you skip: automatic and third-party payments

  • Payments EFCU Financial controls: we'll stop these automatic payments for you.
  • Payments set up through a third party: this includes payments scheduled through another financial institution's online banking or the EFCU Financial website self-service portal. You'll need to cancel the scheduled payment yourself and make any arrangements to restart future payments.

EFCU Financial MasterCards, eLines, HELOCs, Mortgages, and Business Loans are not eligible for this Skip-a-Pay To qualify, all loans must be current and your Skip-A-Payment Request must be received at least one business days before your payment due date.
By electing to skip a payment, you authorize EFCU Financial to extend your loan term by one month for each payment skipped and to withdraw a processing fee for each eligible loan payment skipped (see Fee Schedule). Your regular monthly payment amount will not change; however, interest will continue to accrue during the skipped payment period, which may increase the total cost of your loan.
Payments that extend beyond the original loan term may not be covered by payment protection products. If you have elected GAP, credit life, credit disability, debt protection, or other payment protection products, coverage may be affected by participation in this program.
Regular payments will resume the month following the skipped payment. Payments processed by third parties, including payments set up through another financial institution’s online banking or EFCU Financials’ website self-service portal, you are responsible for canceling the scheduled payment and making any necessary arrangements to reinstate future payments. Only one Skip-A-Pay is permitted per loan per calendar year.
